Personal Care Services
Taking care of individuals personal needs is an essential part of having a high quality of life. We enhance the lives of those we work with by providing the services listed below.
Personal Hygiene Care
When you don’t look your best, you might not feel at your best either. With older adults this is also true, and we can provide personal and hygiene care services that will help them feel at their best. The services we provide depends on the degree of need required at home. At Caring Hands Matter, we encourage older adults to participate in their grooming as much as possible so they can continue to feel independent. There are times that personal grooming can be dangerous for those who aren’t as mobile as they used to be. We can help prevent injury while making your loved one feel like they are still an independent adult.
A Productive Morning
One of the first tasks in the morning is often the use of the bathroom. Our personal care assistants can be there to assist with the first tasks of the day like showering and getting dressed. A bright, productive morning can lay the foundation for the rest of the day.
Adults with Mobility Problems
For adults who are in bed for most of the day, we can provide a personal care assistant who will help with bed pans or adult briefs. We can provide a sponge bath and moving the adult to prevent bed sores. We can perform activities and exercises on your loved one to help improve range of motion too.
We provide various bathing requirements from sponge bath in bed to shower or tub bath. The personal care assistant can help with grooming activities from shampooing, brushing teeth and denture care to combing or brushing hair and skin care.
For those who are unable to leave their bed, we can provide perineal care, adult briefs and bedpan assistance and urinal or commode assistance. We’ll help to move the adult into another position to avoid bedsores, which result from too long in one position. Our assistants provide many other services based on the needs of the older adult and his or her family’s requests.
Why Choose Personal Home Care?
There is a wide range of reasons you may elect personal home care for a loved one. Some of the significant benefits of this type of specialized service focuses on enhancing the comfort of the individual in their preferred home setting.
In many cases, an older adult has spent many years in the home. Often, they’ve raised children there. It holds memories as well as comforts. They love their favorite chair, backyard garden and the ability to have family gatherings. They want to live their remaining years in the comfort of home.
When your loved one is the only client in the home, a personal care assistant spends 100% of their time and energy on his or her care and comfort. Their attention isn’t divided by the needs of other clients, and they can provide the personal, quality care that your loved one needs. That might include overnight care, a few hours of companion care or around-the-clock care.
With our service, your loved one will receive a network of professionals that are committed to providing quality care. A case coordinator is assigned to oversee the client as well as the needs of the family. If calls or visits with the client are required, the case coordinator will do that without additional charge to the family. We’re committed to clear communications and meeting the older adults personal care needs.
While providing care for the older adult, we are also providing the family with comfort. You’ll know that your loved one is being tended to by one of our caregivers who is as devoted to their care as you would be. With a job and children, it’s difficult to be a full-time care provider. By providing an assistant for your loved one, you’re showing them that you care enough to make sure they have proper care while remaining independent in their own home. Often, older adults can feel like a burden on their family. When you’re providing a professional caregiver, you are releasing them of that guilt as well as any guilt you might feel that you’re not providing personal care yourself. You can bring the children to visit without it feeling like a chore too.
